When EEW proprietor Matthew Walker stepped off a plane in Prague on a cold winters day both he and his wife couldn't believe how cold it was. The temperature on the airport’s digital display was confirmed at minus 17 degrees Celcius. When they stepped inside the rented holiday apartment they were both pleasantly surprised at how lovely and warm the rooms were yet all that was heating the building was a small energy efficient boiler.
"Surely all the heat should be escaping through these large windows?" he said to his wife. That evening he got chatting to the apartment owner who told him all the windows were triple glazed, filled with gas and contained a unique warm edge spacer system developed in Switzerland.
As soon as Matthew returned from holiday, he started investigating into manufacturing the exact same concept in the UK and started EEW (Energy Efficient Windows)
Since then the business has grown from strength to strength and in 2010 the company was recognised as one of only four companies in Central England carefully selected by the UK Carbon Reduction Commission as a recognised supplier of windows that far exceed the standard government ‘A’ rating
Energy Efficient Windows are recognised by The CO2 reduction commission.
